Pilgrim Monument/ Provincetown Museum

Standing over 250 feet in the sky, the Pilgrim Monument is an all-granite structure signifying the site of the anchoring of the Mayflower in 1860, before moving to Plymouth. This monument is the first thing visitors notice, whether they arrive in Cape Cod by sea, land, or sky.
Climb the 116 stairs and ramps to the top of the Pilgrim Monument for breathtaking views of Provincetown and the Cape Cod shoreline. The monument honors the five weeks spent by the Pilgrims exploring the tip of Cape Cod before sailing on to Plymouth. This is where the Pilgrims drafted the historic Mayflower Compact, the first written document establishing democratic government.
